High-level Seminar on Microinsurance Regulation

On May 30-31, 2012, the African Insurance Organization (AIO), the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii), and the programme Promoting Financial Sector Dialogue in Africa. The organizers welcomed more than 50 participants from 25 African insurance regulatory and supervisory authorities interested in or already implementing a regulatory reform agenda to promote access to insurance in their jurisdiction.
On May 26th 2011 the Access to Insurance Initiative (Initiative) and the African Insurance Organization (AIO) hosted a Regulators’ Workshop as part of the 38th AIO Annual Seminar. Representatives from 19 African insurance supervisory authorities participated.
A global programme for sound regulatory and supervisory frameworks
Workshop Report: The workshop was held on 13 September 2012 at the Intercontinental Hotel, Beijing, hosted by the China Insurance Regulatory Commission (CIRC).
On November 9th, 2010 as part of the 6th Annual Munich Re Foundation - Microinsurance Network (MIN) Conference, the Access to Insurance Initiative (the Initiative) hosted a seminar for senior insurance sector policymakers, regulators and supervisors in Manila. It was attended by 55 representatives from 20 countries, as well as a number of members of the IAIS-MIN Joint Working Group. This report summarizes the highlights.
This is a presentation held at the Policy Seminar on Access to Insurance for Insurance Regulators and Supervisors in Dakar on 2 November 2009 by Martina Wiedmaier-Pfister. She introduced global Policy and Regulatory approaches to Microinsurance to the participants of the Seminar.
