Inclusive Insurance Training
Inclusive Insurance Training Program for Supervisors in Central and Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia
We are pleased to announce the Inclusive Insurance Training Program for Supervisors in Central and Eastern Europe and Transcaucasia, jointly organised by the Bank of Lithuania, the Access to Insurance Initiative (A2ii), the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) and the Toronto Centre. The training will take place from 12 – 16 November 2018 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The training programme is designed to help participants to understand the importance of a proportionate approach to regulation and supervision to improve access to insurance services. The programme also includes sessions on current practices from selected jurisdictions that have advanced the field of inclusive insurance. Please note that the course will be held in English.
Expected outcomes:
The training is based on a highly interactive teaching approach to reinforce learning on both technical issues as well as leadership skills. Through the use of case studies, lectures and exercises, participants will be equipped to understand better:
The importance of promoting financial inclusion in their home jurisdictions,
How sound supervisory principles can be applied in a manner that encourages the development of an inclusive insurance market,
The importance of innovation for inclusive insurance markets,
How to promote financial inclusion by encouraging supervisors to be adaptable in their roles to appropriately respond to innovative solutions,
Prudential and market conduct issues in overseeing inclusive insurance markets.
Also, throughout the week and with the guidance of Toronto Centre’s Program Leaders, participants will put into practice Toronto Centre’s action planning for dealing with challenges faced at the workplace as well as stakeholder communication concepts in introducing inclusive insurance in their jurisdictions. This will enable them to develop action plans to implement in their home agencies upon return.
Target Audience:
The course targets middle-to-senior level officials from regulatory and supervisory agencies involved in the regulation and supervision of microinsurance in the CEET region. There are no tuition fees to attend the course; however, participants are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation.
The official invitation with registration details will come in July.
